"You can take every thing You know about riding and throw it out the window. The Ural and sidecar is a whole new ballgame. Forget motorcycle, and think ATV or even snowmobile and You will be a fair bit closer.
Maintenance is ultra cheap, and simple, more like working on a chainsaw or lawn mower. I can do the valves in about a half hour. A person with no mechanical experience can do all servicing themselves using the tools and manuals provided with each rig. Ural has built close to 3.5 million rigs in the past 70 years, parts are readily available, most often easier than any other brand.
If You think a Ural is expensive, try building an all new rig with reverse, and you will think other wise. A rig from HD will be in the 30K range and wont have reverse. Reverse is standard on a Ural, and 2wd is not an option from any other make.
The ride experience is unlike any other motorcycle except another hack, like sushi, liver or guiness, You will love it or hate it. To me it has been more fun than My first bike, car, and girlfriend all rolled in to one. I sold My Ducati, and my Yamaha sits rusting in My brothers barn, unused in almost 2 years.
I can safely ride year round, sun, rain, or snow. I have the 2wd Patrol, it is awesome for off roading, hitting the hardware store, or taking the dog for a ride. Not being a sport bike, it doesn't beg You to play ricky racer on the street to have fun. not being some chrome covered, custom painted cruiser, You don't bar hop to show off how bad You are. Its about not worrying about getting it dirty or going fast or having something to prove, Its all about having loads of fun and that's it.
To sum up a Ural in 3 words is FUN FUN FUN.
Its the only thing I have ever ridden that motorcycle Cops wave to ME

A friend of mine who lives in South Dakota told me that Outdoor Motor Sports is one of the best dealerships in the nation, and that if I wanted to buy a Lehman trike -- that Bill Hearne was the man to deal with. I called Bill a month before the 2008 Sturgis Bike Rally and ordered a 2008 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing with a Lehman Monarch II Trike Conversion through his wonderful "fly and ride" program. I picked up my trike the first Monday of bike week and everything was just as I ordered, and customer service was great. Although I live 1600 miles away, I speak to Bill frequently and rely upon his wise advice. My friend was almost correct: Bill Hearne's Outdoor Motorsports is not one of the best -- it is THE best dealership in the nation. When I buy another Gold Wing or Lehman trike, I will order it through Bill Hearne!"

"I made a purchase of a Ural side car bike from my home 650 miles away and found Lewis in sales to be so helpful. The dealer ship did eveything they could to help me with documentation so I could do the paper work in my home state. I was on a tight schedule and drove over to pick up the rig and it was ready for pickup and detailed.I have had a few questions and Lewis has been so good about returning my calls and emails. As a Harley and Bmw owner I wish my home town dealers were as helpful. I would not hesitate going the 650 miles to this dealer from my hometown for return of the service they have provided me.By the way for anyone thinking of buying a Ural if you don't think it is worth the money put your 5 year old Grandson in the sidecar and take him for a spin!"

"On 8 July I blew a tire outside Spearfish, and found your shop in the book. Being from out of town, I called and Randy the Service Manager told me they had a tire for me and he would send someone to help. What a relief. A young man named Dan came out and loaded the bike on a trailer with complete professionalism, which gave us great confidence. After arriving at the shop, Randy suggested that one of the staff could take us for something to eat, as we missed lunch. A very kind and friendly Courtney, gave us a lift to a local restraunt, and came back to get us when the bike was fixed. Ken the Techincal Wizard in the back, fixed the tire in no time and had us back on the road with information on how to extend the life of the tire and what to look for when inspecting the tires. It was their attitude and cheerfullness that turned an otherwise bad day into a good expierence. When the bill came, we were both pleasently surprised at the low cost for such an adventure. We were at your mercy, and would have had to pay what ever you charged, but the prices were fantastic and we even felt like we got a bargin. I have to offer my thanks and gratitude to Ken,Dan,Courtney and most of all Randy for their Great service. You have a wonderful staff and you should be proud of them (Raises for All)

"i received your service dept survey in the mail when i got home from my trip to sturgis. the comment section isn't big enough for my story. my brother-in-law and i rode from annapolis,maryland to belle fourche, sd including the badlands loop, spearfish canyon, needles hwy, etc. it was time for an oil change. randy and miles got the bikes right in and made sure they got washed also. we had hit two days of rain, 100 degree days, and way too many bugs in our journey. the bikes were new again when we got them back. while we waited on our bikes, we met liz and marianne. they allowed my brother-in-law to use the phone when he couldn't get any service from his cell phone, and when they found out he had a 2006 1800 trike (lehman conversion) they called over to the lehman assembly plant and arranged for a tour. they even offered to get us transported across the street but we declined. in my opinion your staff went beyond good service to great service. what a friendly group you have working for you. i'm sorry to say that i probably won't be in the area in the near future, but if i were i would definitely stop in to say hi to everyone. Thanks for giving me this chance to tell you about the wonderful staff you have working for you. p.s. we left sturgis traveled through yellowstone, went north, across the great lakes and south back to maryland. just under 6000 miles. i need another oil change! "

" I was on a little trip to the hills and just decided to stop at the cycle shop next to the interstate, i had been thinking of getting another bike for a while. These guys made me the deal that i wanted on a great bike and since i was on a mini vacation i had no way to get the bike back home as i live about 400 miles away, they said that they had someone coming to a town about 60 miles from were i live and would have it sent with. After a few days i found out that the ride they had for my bike had fallen through and they were tring to find out how to get it to me. they ended up sending it by frieght company at there expense because they said they would get it to me. I am sure this is not what todd planned on but he did it because he said he would, this is how things should work these days and seldom do. Thanks again, keeping your word shows a lot of integrity."

I had been on the road for 3 days and had seen a couple of shops on the way and nobody seemed to want to do anything about a malfunction on my 1800 Goldwing. So we came into Spearfish and stayed at a motel close by your Honda shop. So I told my friend I was going to see what your shop could do for me. So I wheeled into your service department and Randy greeted me and asked if he could help me and I told him my problem and without any hesitation he took my bike and fixed it right away.
